Titanic Belfast Museum

Titanic Belfast was opened in 2012 and is located in the heart of Belfast. Despite the fact that the Titanic sank over 100 years ago, there is still great interest in the ship and its maiden voyage. At the Titanic Belfast, you will be taken on a self-guided adventure through nine interactive galleries that take you through the building process, the fit-out of the Titanic and the launch, all where the ship was actually built.  You will also learn about the sinking, the aftermath as well as more about the myths and reality. Your tour also includes entry to the SS Nomadic which is the last remaining ship from the White Star Line. It has been fully restored and gives you a glimpse into what it was really like back then.

Games of Thrones Studio Tour

If you are a fan of the television series Game of Thrones then you will enjoy visiting some of the filming locations at the Game of Thrones Studio. There are many different options you can choose from to make your Game of Thrones experience fit your interests and available time. The self-guided studio tour takes you for a behind-the-scenes look at the Seven Kingdoms. You can walk through the sets of Winterfell and King’s Landing. You will also get an up-close look at some of the elaborate costumes. The Studio Café is in the centre of the tour and a great place to have a meal made with fresh local ingredients. The studio is located about 30 minutes by coach or car from central Belfast.

Old Bushmills Distillery

The Old Bushmills Distillery is the oldest licensed distillery in the world. Located a little over an hour away from Belfast, there are daily guided tours which include a tasting experience. The tour lasts about one hour. Children under eight years are not permitted on the tour and to participate in the tasting you must be 18 years or older. If you fancy yourself an aficionado of single malt whiskey, you can also arrange to participate in a tutored tasting session. Though there is a café on-site, you could also find several nearby dining options including The Bushmills Inn Hotel & Restaurant which is less than five minutes away.

Botanical Gardens

The Botanical Gardens in Belfast were opened as a public park in 1895. Located about 1 mile south of the city centre, the Botanical Gardens are free to visit for all. Two of the most popular features of the gardens are The Tropical Ravine and The Palm House. The Palm House is one of the earliest examples of a glasshouse made from curved iron and glass. They showcase how exotic plants can be grown and contain some of the oldest seed plants in the world today. The Palm House has a 12-metre dome to accommodate the taller plants. A walk through the Botanic Gardens has been described as one of the best walks in Belfast.

Belfast Secret Food Tour

If you want a real insight into the food and the culture of Belfast, the Secret Food Tour just might be for you. This is a guided tour that lasts about three hours. On your tour, you will sample traditional Northern Irish Soda bread, artisan Irish cheeses, cured meats and local smoked salmon.
