The larger coach was clean and very comfortable, and although the minivan was not a coach, it was nonetheless clean and well presented. Overall, I would gladly recommend and use Coachhire again. Thredbo, New South Wales

Just a six hour drive from Sydney you can find Thredbo, which is a ski mountain that caters for skiers who prefer long runs. And one of the best things about Thredbo is that it is a ski-in/ski-out resort.

Thredbo is also home to Australia’s longest ski run, a 5.9 kilometer run of groomed snow perfect for getting your thighs burning. For the more experienced skiers is The Bluff, that will really test your skiing skills to the limit.

If backcountry skiing is your thing then Dead Horse Gap is the place to go. Intermediate and beginners are also well catered for in High Noon and the Cruiser areas.

Mount Buller, Victoria

Perisher is one of the largest ski resorts in Australia, and it happens to be the largest resort in all Australasia with more than 1,200 hectares of glorious skiable snow.

Around six hours drive from Sydney it makes the perfect resort for a weekend skiing trip. The one unusual thing about Perisher is that there is no actual central ski village. And most skiers enjoy quiet dinners with friends in their ski lodges.

For kids there is the great Terrain Park and for adults this ski destination offers all levels of skiing to keep experienced and intermediate skiers and boarders happy.
