The Do’s and Don’ts of Booking Coach Hire
Never Book Transport Based Purely on Price
Cost may be a major consideration for selecting your coach hire, but must not be the overriding decision maker. Often the cheapest companies have lower rates for saving money elsewhere. This could be in the quality of their vehicles, how often they are serviced, or if they are regularly cleaned or not.
Do Book with Companies that are Well Established
By choosing a group transportation company with a long track record and has been in the industry for a long time you are more or less guaranteed experience. No coach company with a substandard performance record survives for any length of time.
Do Book with a Company That will let you Inspect Their Vehicles
Any reputable coach charter or bus hire company will have no problems letting you inspect their fleet. Whilst at their offices you can ask to see maintenance schedules and safety records. Even take the opportunity to chat to some of the drivers and get a feel for the company.
Do Trust Your Judgement
Have faith in your own judgement, even though you may never have booked a bus charter before you would have had experience with dealing with online companies. If there are delays in answering your questions or they do not respond with the right answers these should flag up a red flag. And if you have any doubts whatsoever then move on to the next company.
Don’t Pay the Full Amount Upfront
Certain less reputable transportation companies insist on the full hire fee upfront. Unless you have prior knowledge of the company insist on only paying a deposit. It is usual for many companies to want the full amount only seven days before the excursion, or perhaps even set up a credit account with them.
Bus Hire Compare help facilitate many of these points. We will only suggest reputable group transport companies that we have already fully vetted. Then you can contact them direct with any pertinent questions that you may have.
