Popular Destinations in Canberra

Parliament House

Parliament House is home to the legislative branch of the Australian Government. It is located on Capital Hill in Canberra. It is a distinctive boomerang-shaped building that was first opened in 1988. The roof has a grass walkway where you can take in spectacular views of the city of Canberra. The architecture features two circular granite walls designed to mirror the curves of the hill. The foyer recreates the look and feel of a eucalyptus forest with 48 columns of greenish-grey marble illuminated to create this effect. You have the opportunity to see the public galleries of both the House and the Senate. You might even get to watch parliament in session.
