What’s On?
On the 1st December marks the beginning of Christmas in Cairns with the yearly event of lighting the Christmas tree. This takes place at the Esplanade Plaza and is a great event filled with decorations and plenty of entertainment. The lighting of the Christmas tree in Cairns is a perfect start to the Christmas holidays in December.
On the 9th December head over to The Redlynch Christmas Festival at the Xavier Herbert Park. This fantastic family event is great for families and will also have plenty of activities for kids, amusements, carolling, food, a parade and a chance to meet Santa!
Carols By Candlelight if Cairns’ biggest Christmas Event and is held at Fogarty Park, only minutes from Cairns Central Business District. Here you can enjoy a brilliant concert of carolling followed by a fantastic display of fireworks in the evening. This will be taking place from 17:00 on the 10th December.
If you are looking for something unique then Holloways Beach Carols and sing along to your favourite carols on the beach. This will be a festive evening of carol singing and you will witness the arrival of Santa on a motorbike. This will be hosted on the 16th December.
IF you want to participate into some more carolling are can’t make the previous dates then attend the Edmonton Community Carols by Candlelight at Ravizza Park on the 6th December as they will be hosting their 27th annual event! On the 8th December Norman Park will be hosting its very own carolling concert too with Gordonvale Carols. Here will also feature some delicious food and market stalls too!
