Collections of National Railway Museum

The National Railway Museum showcases all aspects of Australian railway history. The museum have vast collections of historical vehicles that came from the State, Commonwealth and private railway operators. These historical vehicles formerly operated on the three major rail gauges in Australia.

Their collections also includes station name boards, uniforms, signal lamps, clocks, furniture, locomotive builders’ plates and railway hospitality objects. It even has a specialist reference library that comprises of old documentation like journals, books, and audiovisual items.

The National Railway Museum audiovisual items are video, sound recordings, art, posters, placards, photographs and negatives.
