Rektango

Rektango is a free live music event that takes place every Friday at Salamanca Place Hobart. Enjoy a few drinks whilst listening to music from a range of genres.

It is a very popular event, where people cram into the Rektango Courtyard to take in some tunes and dance the evening away.

If you’re looking for a unique cultural experience and you appreciate the arts then head to the Junction Arts Festival on 6-10 September. Located in Launceston, there is a program of free events where you can see work from the best artists across Tasmania and beyond.

As well as a huge selection of artwork to admire, the festival also offers fantastic wine and food stalls, Fringe acts and music so you can have a great time when you are visiting the Tasmania area.

 

Australian Masters Games

For the sports fanatics, the Australian Masters Games are taking place 21-28 October. You will be treated to an action-packed schedule of different sports from traditional Aussie sports like Cricket and Australian Rules Football to Martial Arts, Karting and a long list of other exciting sports as athletes from across the area come to compete.

Now in its 16th year, the Australian Masters Games is ideal for anyone who wants to watch some great athletes in action and experience some of the sports that Australia are famous for introducing. If you get your entry in early enough, you could even take part in the events yourself and head home with some silverware for the trophy cabinet! It is the largest participation sporting events in Australia so don’t miss the chance to see Dragon Boat Racing, Archery and much more.
